Lesson Scripture – John 11:20-27

Jesus has declared that He is the Resurrection and the Life. What does this really mean to those who believe in the name of Jesus? What does it really mean to those who do not believe in the name of Jesus? Jesus explains simply, those who believe in Him shall live forever; those who have died as well as those who are still living. What power?

It is the Resurrection that gives us the assurance that we can take GOD at His WORD. Jesus told the disciples as well as the religious leaders of His day that His Father had given Him, Jesus, the authority to lay down His life and to pick it up again. (ID VERSE) He laid down His life and took it up again the third day as He said He would. This is evidence enough that we can trust GOD to keep His WORD in all things.

Jesus again offers eternal life with another “I AM” Statement. This time, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life.” What better alternative do you have in which to put your confidence, your trust, your loyalty, your faith? I think there is no better opportunity to depend upon than the WORD of GOD, the testimony of GOD, Jesus Himself. If we believe, we shall live forever through the power of the Resurrection, Jesus the Son of GOD. Let’s believe and live.
