Walking With Jesus Today

Who Is Jesus, Really? I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life – Lesson 12

Jesus continues His I AM statements, declaring His deity, “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life.” With this sixth (6th) I AM statement, Jesus of Nazareth identifies Himself as the I AM GOD that introduced Himself to Moses on Mount Horeb (Sinai; the Mountain of GOD) Who now provides the Way, the example to follow, that leads to eternal life.

Jesus is the Way, the Example, for everyone to follow in order to attain salvation. Being obedient to His WORD is the Way to be righteous as Jesus is righteous. The Way is the life example and the WORD Jesus left us to follow.

In this same I AM declaration, Jesus explains that He is the Truth regarding salvation. The Truth is the WORD of GOD, and the WORD of GOD made flesh (Jesus) reveals that the penalty of sin, the second death from which there is no resurrection, is paid by the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Son of GOD. Jesus offers the payment for sin to all who will believe in Him as Savior, the atoning sacrifice through His redeeming blood, over which the second death has no power. This is the Truth regarding salvation; not by the works done keeping the Law.

Jesus reiterates that He is the eternal life giver. He explains what is eternal life really. In John 17:3, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.” Eternal life is knowing GOD as the only true supreme and sovereign GOD, and in the same manner know Jesus as the Christ Who GOD sent to redeem humanity.

So, what shall it be for you? Will you accept Jesus as your LORD and Savior? Will you accept His atoning blood as the complete payment for your debt of sin, eternal death? I invite you to do so, and follow the Way (the Example) that Jesus left; understand the Truth regarding salvation and how you can attain it; accept the eternal life that Jesus offers to you and to everyone who believes in Him as Savior and LORD.

Remain blessed brothers and sisters in Christ, as you walk with Jesus today.
